Participation of Nepal in WBSC Congress Botswana

GABORONE, Botswana –

The WBSC Extra Ordinary Congress  unanimously approved the new Statutes and the baseball and softball Division Codes.
One could also figure out the merger of Baseball and Softball Associations among different countries to give up a combined Federation which included both baseball and softball.The combining of baseball and softball federations follows the historic precedent set with the merger of International Baseball Federation (IBAF) and the International Softball Federation (ISF), which established the WBSC in 2013.

Till date after the WBSC Extraordinary Congress at the Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC) , there are 184 WBSC Members with the fabulous and extraordinary growth and development of this game. The new members were welcomed with applause by the WBSC Congress.

“Today marks another historic moment toward the global development of our sport and achieving our mission of building a billion-strong baseball and softball community over the next decade, particularly as we take aim on Olympic inclusion in 2024 and 2028,” said an emotional and spirited WBSC President Riccardo Fraccari.

“It’s a great day,” said President Riccardo Fraccari. “The day we really become a united Federation, proud world governing body of a global sport. Starting Monday, we all need to head to the same direction. And we want to interact with you, member countries. We want you to live your Federation day by day”.

The result was sealed by 162 votes, expressed by 125 Federations, representing 94 countries.
The Congress also approved new memberships of Tanzania (baseball and softball), Botswana baseball, Congo (baseball and softball). Ghana and Mongolia softball merged with the baseball Federation and Nepal baseball merged with the softball Federation. St Marteen (baseball and softball) became a provisional member.

1st National Baseball Championship

नेपाल बेशबल तथा सफ्टबल संघको आयोजनामा प्रथम राष्ट्रिय बेलबल च्याम्पियनसिप २०७३ पौष १ देखि ३ सम्म लगन खेलस्थित सैनिक शारिरीक प्रशिक्षण तथा तालिम केन्द्रमा हुने भएको छ । नेपाली सेना, सशस्त्र प्रहरी बल, पोखरा यती बेशबल क्लब, भक्तपुर बेशबल क्लब र गोर्खा बेसबल क्लब गरि ५ टिमको सहभागिता रहने प्रतियोगिता फेब्रुअरी १४ देखि मार्च ९ सम्म पाकिस्तानको ईस्लामाबादमा आयोजाना हुने पश्चिम एशिया बेशबल प्रतियोगिताको लागि नेपाली राष्ट्रिय टिम छनोट प्रतियोगिता समेत रहेको संघका महासचिव दीपक न्यौपानेले जानकारी गराए । उक्त प्रतियोगितामा एशियाका ९ राष्ट्रको सहभागिता रहने समेत महासचिव न्यौपानेले जनाएका छन् । च्याम्पियनसिपमा विजयी खेलाडी तथा टिमलाई ट्रफी मेडल र प्रमाण पत्र प्रदान गरिनेछ ।

Meeting with BFA

Nepal Olympic Committee(NOC) General Secretary Mr. Lama Tendi Sherpa met up with the Baseball Federation of Asia (BFA) President Mr. Tom Peng at Baseball Federation of Asia Headquarter, Taipe City, Taiwan.
For the development of Baseball in Nepal, General Secretary Lama Tendi Sherpa discussed with BFA about the status of Baseball in Nepal. Nepal Baseball and Softball Assosciation (NBSA) is looking actively for the growth of the game in Nepal. The discussion was done to promote Baseball in Nepal. General Secretary invited BFA President for the visit to Nepal. BFA is also ready to provide assistance and supports (equipment, coach, umpire) to NBSA for the development of Baseball in Nepal.
